The Sunshine Coast Natural Care Company was founded by Kasandra Maidmentt in 1998.  During Kasandra’s 10 years of ownership the business was known as Sunshine Coast Natural Gift Company or Kasandra’s Soaps.  In April 2008, I purchased this well established business and transformed it into the Sunshine Coast Natural Care Co.

Kasandra had been making soap since the early 90s and taught me all her secrets.  I was proud when Kasandra declared I was “a natural soap maker”!

At the beginning, Sunshine Coast Natural Care Company’s client base consisted of mainly Sunshine Coast stores and B&B’s who carried a wide range of our products.   After a few years of hard work, The Sunshine Coast Natural Care Company has branched out to stores and markets across BC and Alberta.  All of my product’s recipes have been perfected and lovingly handmade in my home studio.

Having a new creative outlet I feel I have become somewhat of a mad scientist.  I have expanded my product line to new natural products such as sugar scrubs, glacier clay masks, hand sanitizer and a more extensive men’s line. One if the many things that makes my products unique is the Calendula Oil that is grown organically in my garden and then infused in an organic olive oil to create a high quality Calendula Oil with many healing properties.

I have made many changes since buying this company.  I believe I bring a younger, fresher look to these great products.  I have been working at changing the packaging to more environmentally friendly materials.  I have changed all the labeling to be more attractive and now I am focusing on expanding to new markets.

This journey has been a series of trials and tribulation but is by far the most rewarding experience of my life.  I am very excited for the future of my business and its’ success.
